IHSA Bass Fishing Tournament

General Superintendent with IHSA 2012

On Friday, April 20th, the Forest Preserve District hosted two Illinois High School

Association Bass Fishing Sectional tournaments at Busse Reservoir, and Skokie
Lagoons. Twelve local high schools with approximately twenty-four boats participated at
EACH site, fishing for a chance to compete in the State tournament the weekend of May
4th.

Congrats to the anglers of Lake Park High School and their coach, Bob Wozniak, on
winning the IHSA sectional Bass Fishing tournament at Busse Reservoir. The winning
team is pictured here with Forest Preserve District General Superintendent Arnold
Randall. Two teams from Hinsdale Central also advanced to the next round of the
tournament.

Despite winter-like weather conditions, this year’s IHSA Bass Fishing sectional at Busse
Woods produced the most fish ever at a Forest Preserve District lake for this event. The
big fish of 5lbs. 2ozs was an impressive catch from a student at Elk Grove High School.

Congratulations also to Taft High School from Chicago, under Coach Michael Mulligan,

for winning the Skokie Lagoons tournament. Fenwick and Niles North High Schools also
advanced to the next round of the tournament.

We’re looking forward to hosting a great event again in 2013.
