Youth Organization Camping

Camp Sullivan will be closed for renovations in 2014

About Our Camping Facilities

The Forest Preserves of Cook County currently operates overnight camping facilities for youth organizations at Camp Alphonse. Camp Sullivan will be closed for renovation in 2014.

Camping applications for overnight camping can be downloaded here in PDF format and should be submitted in person at Forest Preserve Headquarters in River Forest. Phone reservations are also accepted by calling 708-771-1052.

In 2012, the District completed its Camping Master Plan, which identified new offerings to serve youth, families, groups and individuals of all ages, interests and backgrounds. The plan envisions a series of related yet diverse camping experiences built by reinvesting in and revitalizing existing camps, creating new camping destinations, and developing special event campsites near nature centers.

Work is currently underway on the six priority sites identified in the plan. We expect all sites to be open by summer 2015. For more information, visit fpdcc.com/camping.
