About Our Camping Facilities

The Forest Preserve District of Cook County operates overnight camping facilities for properly supervised youth organizations of either boys or girls at Camp Sullivan, Alphonse and Glenview.

 

 

ADULT AND FAMILY CAMPING IS PROHIBITED within the Forest Preserve District.

 

TRAILERS AND CAMPERS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Camping applications for overnight camping can be downloaded here in PDF format and should be submitted in person at the Forest Preserve District Headquarters in River Forest. Phone reservations are also accepted by calling 708-771-1052.

 

Overnight Camping

 

Camp Sullivan Location, Facilities, and Fees

Camp Sullivan Location, Facilities, and Fees

Location Information: Entrance is on the northeast corner of 147th Street and Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois. The caretakers residence is located at the entrance.

 

Cabins: two buildings are each divided into two sections (cabins A and B, C and D), each cabin will be provided with ten bunk beds accommodating twenty persons, mattresses and bedding are not furnished. Kitchen facilities and the play area/eating room will be shared by the two cabins in the building. A flush toilet and a single shower are provided with each cabin. The kitchen has stove, refrigerator, sink with running water (hot and cold), Serving counter and shelving. Kitchen utensils, dishes or silverware are not furnished.

All cabins have electric lights and are heated

 

Lodge: the lodge accommodates twenty persons. Bunk beds are provided, but mattresses and bedding are not furnished. The lodge has kitchen facilities and a play area/eating room. The lodge also has one flush toilet and one shower. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, sink with running water (hot and cold), serving counter and shelving. Kitchen utensils, dishes or silverware are not furnished.

 

Tent Camping: Organizations may obtain reservations and permits to camp overnight on weekends in their own tents. Water for drinking, cooking and washing is available from a well in the camp area. Outhouse toilet facilities are provided. Tenting areas will be designated by the caretaker. The dining facilities are not available to tent campers.

 

Fees: A fee of $25 per night will be charged for the use of each section of buildings for the lodge. The fee for tent camping is $20.00 per tent, per night.

Location Information: The camp is located on the north side of Dundee Road (Route 68), one-half (1/2) mile west of Quinten Road, in Deer Grove Forest Preserve, North of Palatine, Illinois.

 

Tent Camping: Organizations may obtain reservations and permits to camp overnight on weekends in their own tents. Water for drinking, cooking and washing is available from a well in the camp area. Outhouse toilet facilities are provided. Tenting areas will be designated by the caretaker.

 

Fees: The fee for tent camping is $20.00 per tent, per night.

Location Information: 1140 Harms Road, South of Lake Avenue, Glenview, Illinois.

 

Tent Camping: Organizations may obtain reservations and permits to camp overnight on weekends in their own tents. Water for drinking, cooking and washing is available from a well in the camp area. Outhouse toilet facilities are provided. Tenting areas will be designated by the caretaker.

 

Fees: The fee for tent camping is $20.00 per tent, per night.

Day Camps
