Wildlife Observation and Conservation

Bird watching is one of the most popular recreational activities in America, and our forest preserves provide abundant opportunities to see resident and migrant birds, both common and unusual. A downloadable checklist of birds observed in the forest preserves is available here (in Adobe® Acrobat™ PDF format, which will open in a 2nd browser window) for those who want to strike out on their own, while our nature centers offer bird walks and many other activities for birding and other wildlife observation.
