Picnics

The picnic groves at the Forest Preserve District of Cook County are the perfect place to picnic. Summer is the time to gather family and friends and head outdoors for a picnic. Every effort has been made by Forest Preserve personnel to ensure that your picnicking experience is pleasant and enjoyable.

Picnic groves are available throughout Cook County, providing a variety of amenities set with the scenic backdrop of the Forest Preserves. Maps of 110 picnic grove areas are available in Adobe® Acrobat™ PDF format.

Picnic Permits

A Picnic Permit must be obtained by groups of 25 or more. Only two (2) picnic permits per person or organization are allowed per year. Here you can find more information about how to obtain a Picnic Permit.
