Help Natural Areas Stay Clean and Help Conserve Resources for Future Generations

The Forest Preserve District of Cook County, with support from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA) has begun a program in which glass, plastic and aluminum will be collected and recycled.

Everyone is Encouraged to Participate

Recycling receptacles are available at twelve Forest Preserve locations throughout Cook County for you to deposit your recyclables. With your help the District will be able to:

  • Conserve land by reducing the amount of trash deposited in local landfills.

  • Reduce the cost to the District and taxpayers for trash deposition in landfills.

  • Conserve precious natural resources.

HELP RECYCLE GLASS and PLASTIC BOTTLES, METAL and ALUMINUM CANS

  1. PLEASE separate all of your plastic bottles, glass bottles and metal cans from your regular trash.

  2. PLACE them in a separate bag or container.

  3. DROP-OFF recyclables at the closest designated recycling area listed in this brochure.

NOTE: Recycling centers will not take trash that is mixed with food, Styrofoam, plastic plates, forks, spoons and knives.

THANK YOU!
