Ice Skating

Ice skating during the winter season is permitted on designated District lakes on a SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK basis. Ice conditions are not monitored by the District. Skaters should check ice thickness before going out on any frozen body of water. A minimum of four inches of solid ice over the entire lake is recommended before individuals attempt ice skating. Hours: 8am-sunset.

Barrington Road Pond
Buffalo Woods Pond
Busse Lake North Pool
Crawdad Slough
Deer Grove Lake
Hidden Pond

Public safety requires the closing of many Forest Preserve parking lots and driveways during the winter season. However, parking facilities involved with winter sports will be open daily.
