The National Weather Service is forecasting excessive heat for our region for August 23-24.

The Forest Preserves of Cook County is monitoring the National Weather Service’s Excessive Heat Warning. We will update our Events page and post about any impacts on programs/events in the Preserves through the duration of the alert.

If you do decide to visit the Preserves, please use caution:

• Drink plenty of fluids
• Stay out of the sun
• Take breaks from strenuous outdoor activities
• Travel with a partner, if possible
• Always let someone know where you are going and how long you will be gone
