For court-ordered community service NOT requiring supervision, you can earn service hours/impacts through our Litter Cleanups program. Follow the steps below to register: 

For non-court-ordered community service (school, community group, church) you can earn service hours/impacts through our Litter Cleanups and Ecological Stewardship programs. Follow the steps below to register:

1. Create a volunteer profile.
2. Register for an approved program:
   Litter Cleanups (court-ordered and non-court-ordered)
   Ecological Stewardship (non-court ordered community service ONLY). All youth under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
3. Volunteer with your selected program
4. Log your hours/impacts on your online profile.
5. When you have completed and reported the number of hours/impacts required, email us at volunteer.fpd@cookcountyil.gov to ask for a report on Forest Preserves of Cook County letterhead. Please allow two business days to receive your report.
