Forest Preserves of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle will introduce the FY 2027 Executive Budget Recommendation to the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners on October 7, 2026, at 10:30 am.
The Finance Committee of the Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the FY 2027 Executive Budget Recommendation of President Toni Preckwinkle on October 15, 2026, at 10 am.
Additionally, the Finance Committee of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting for the purpose of conducting departmental reviews on the proposed FY 2027 Executive Budget Recommendation on October 28, 2026, at 9:30 am.
A reconvened meeting for the purpose of considering amendments to the FY 2027 Executive Budget Recommendation will be held by the Finance Committee of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners on November 17, 2026, at 9:30 am.
President Preckwinkle Presents 2027 Budget Recommendation
Forest Preserves of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle introduced the 2027 Budget Recommendation to the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners on October 7, 2026.
The total budget request for all funds for FY 2027 is $206,885,069 million, which is an increase of 6.6% from FY 2026. The Corporate budget request, which funds the day-to-day operations of the Forest Preserves, is $103 million, an increase of $10.2 million, or 11%, from 2026.
Revenues include property tax collections totaling $151.1 million, personal property replacement taxes revenue totaling $12.1 million and nontax revenues totaling $11.5 million.
