Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Restrictions

Camp Reinberg, Camp Sullivan, Camp Shabbona and Camp Bullfrog Lake are open from Wednesday evening to Sunday morning for tents and cabins, and every day for RVs. Camp Dan Beard remains closed.

All reservations must be made over the phone: 855-YES-CAMP (855-937-2267).

For campsite reservations that are scheduled through September 7, there will be no penalty for rescheduling or cancelling regardless of whether they are cancelled by the Forest Preserves or by the permit holder. Call 855-YES-CAMP (855-937-2267) or email info@cookcountycamping.com to reschedule or receive a refund.

Events & Programs

Every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Forest Preserves staff lead free programs open to all registered campers, including:

  • Friday and Saturday night campfires
  • Special Friday and Saturday evening programs
  • Saturday afternoon activities and hikes
  • Camping skill demonstrations

Each campground has a limited number of Camping Adventure Backpacks available for free check-out, that include binoculars, field guides, a compass, activity sheets and other aids to nature exploration.
