Landscape Maintenance

Mission: To maintain a clean and welcoming environment at our recreational outdoor areas, facilities and structures throughout the Forest Preserve District.


The Landscape Maintenance Department directs maintenance activities from General Headquarters and four regional areas that include eight operational divisions and sub-divisions located throughout the county.


The general functions of the Landscape Maintenance Department are to maintain picnic groves; pick litter in recreational areas; remove refuse; cut and trim grass and perform other landscape needs; maintain multi-use trails; perform janitorial duties at some District facilities; manage the distribution and maintenance of picnic tables; handle minor road, signage, structure and fencing repairs.
