Camp Shabbona Woods features small three-season cabins, mulch tent pads and a clearing for activities. Sand Ridge Nature Center is just a short stroll away through an oak woodland. Camp staff help coordinate activities and programming at the campsite.

Tent Campsite
Capacity: 6 people | Availability: 16 sites
Surrounded by nature, tent sites include a tent pad with timber edge, picnic table and fire ring with grate. Tent pad accommodates a 10′ x 10′ tent, which sleeps six. (Tent not included; tents available for rental or purchase.) Most tent sites require campers to park in the main lot and hike in a short distance.

Small Cabin

Programs
Every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Forest Preserves staff lead free programs open to all registered campers, including:
- Friday and Saturday night campfires
- Special Friday and Saturday evening programs
- Saturday afternoon activities and hikes
- Camping skill demonstrations
Each campground has a limited number of Camping Adventure Backpacks available for free check-out, that include binoculars, field guides, a compass, activity sheets and other aids to nature exploration.
