Celebrate Local Public Lands with Party for the Preserves

Throughout Cook County, residents and visitors can enjoy nearly 70,000 acres of wild and wonderful in the Forest Preserves of Cook County. These public lands are available for numerous activities including hiking, biking, fishing and camping.

Enjoy a number of self-guided activities and guided programs on September 25, 2021 at various Forest Preserves locations to celebrate National Public Lands Day.

All visitors over 2 years of age must wear a mask indoors at all times. Unvaccinated visitors should also wear a mask outdoors when physical distancing (six feet from other people) is not possible.

Help protect our Public Lands by participating in a Select Organized Litter Obliterator (SOLO) cleanup! At select locations you can collect cleanup supplies and do your part by picking up litter in the Preserves.
