Celebrate National Public Lands Day at our annual Party for the Preserves. Arrive in the morning and make a toy boat with natural materials and join a ‘regatta’ down the river. Stay until the afternoon to make a “seed bomb” to launch wildflowers into your own yard. All ages.
Zombie Hunting!
Become a citizen scientist and learn about the spooky zombie insects of Illinois! Neuroparasitologist Dr. William C. Beckerson of Lake Forest College leads a local expedition to search for “zombie beetles” at River Trail Nature Center. As part of the team, you can help document and collect zombie insects for real genetics research!
