Due to the weather forecast, our Fall Festival at River Trail Nature Center this Sunday, October 19 will be a scaled-back event. We’ve unfortunately had to cancel the hayrides, other outdoor activities, and our overflow parking and bus service. Parking will be available onsite and connecting picnic groves only. We still invite you to join us for some free activities both inside and outdoors, including crafts, storytelling, and pumpkins, as well as food and local honey for sale from vendors. Special performances by a mariachi band under the back porch overhang. While the event is smaller than planned, we look forward to celebrating the season with you! Please call 847-824-8360 with any questions.
Celebrate the season with a special day of autumn fun. Entertainment, beekeeping demonstrations, animal encounters, pumpkin painting, honey sales, and more! Admission is free; there may be small fees for some activities and food available to purchase.
Nearly all events are free; some require registration and/or a low fee. Residents may qualify for free admission opportunities at our partners: Brookfield Zoo Chicago and the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Printed copies of our quarterly Events Guide are available at our Nature Centers and General Headquarters. They may also be available at your local city hall or library. Know a location that should have our Events Guide? Contact us.
We are committed to providing equal, integrated participation for individuals with disabilities. Please contact the organizer of your event 72 hours in advance to request reasonable accommodations and to obtain more information about site accessibility.
