Description:

Animal Encounter (11am-3pm)*
Throughout the afternoon Naturalists will be showing some of the native animals that live at River Trail. Could it be a bird? A snake? A turtle? Come find out!  *Registration required: Call 847-824-8360.

Self-Guided Pollinator Garden Tour (11am-3pm)
Visitors to River Trail can follow a self-guided tour of our new Pollinator Garden while kids can try and find everything on the Pollinator Garden scavenger hunt, anytime from 11-3pm.

Select Organized Litter Obliterators (SOLO)
Help clean up the preserves as a way to give back and celebrate Nation Public Lands Day. Pick up Litter Obliterator supplies at the follow locations at any of our nature centers (9am – 3pm); Bemis Woods-South, Kickapoo Woods and Forest Way Grove (2pm – 6pm).


About Party for the Preserves

Enjoy a number of self-guided activities and guided programs on September 26 from 9am to 9pm at various Forest Preserves locations to celebrate National Public Lands Day. See all Party for the Preserves events.

All participants are required to wear masks and practice physical distancing. The number of participants may be capped for activities to allow for physical distancing.
